Some explanations for the matrix switcher

Everyone knows that matrix switchers are one of the most common devices in security engineering and intelligent conference projects, and they are the core devices for signal switching. But little is known about the terminology of the relevant parameters of the matrix. Let's briefly introduce the terminology explained in several matrix switchers.

The output level refers to the level signal of the matrix switcher output signal. Here the TTL level signal is used most often because the normal data representation uses a binary specification, +5V is equivalent to logic "1", 0V is equivalent to logic "0", which is called TTL (transistor-transistor logic level) The signal system, which is the standard technology for communication between various parts of the equipment controlled by the computer processor.

The TTL level signal is ideal for data transmission inside the device controlled by the computer processor. First of all, the data transmission inside the device controlled by the computer processor has low requirements for power supply and low heat loss, and the TTL level signal is directly Connecting to an integrated circuit does not require an expensive line driver and receiver circuit; moreover, data transmission inside the device controlled by the computer processor is performed at a high speed, and the operation of the TTL interface can precisely meet this requirement. In most cases, TTL communication uses parallel data transmission, and parallel data transmission is not suitable for distances over 10 feet. This is due to both reliability and cost. Because of the problems of phase separation and asymmetry in parallel interfaces, these problems have an impact on reliability. In addition, for parallel data transmission, the cost of cables and connectors is higher than that of serial communication.

The input level refers to what kind of level signal the signal generated by the digital circuit received by the matrix switcher consists of. In circuit analysis, the commonly used method is to equate the signal transmission circuit with a four-terminal network. Measure the change of the signal during the transmission process. It can be expressed by the signal power increase or decrease, the basic unit is watt (W). However, the level is more widely used. The definition of the level is: The power ratio of the network output and input is taken as a logarithmic value. With P, P = lgP2/P1, the unit is Bell (B).

Impedance is the resistance of the circuit or device to alternating current, and the output impedance is the impedance measured at the outlet. The smaller the impedance, the higher the ability to drive a larger load. The input impedance is the impedance measured at the inlet. High input impedance is ideal for minimizing signal changes during circuit connection. The minimum impedance at a given voltage is the minimum input impedance. Instead of or in addition to the input current, it determines the input power requirement.

Bandwidth, also called bandwidth, refers to the amount of data that can be transmitted at a fixed time, that is, the ability to transmit data in the transmission pipeline. In digital devices, the bandwidth is usually expressed in bps, bitpersecond, which is the number of bits per second that can be transmitted. In analog devices, the bandwidth is usually expressed in cycles per second or Hertz Hz. Bandwidth is particularly important for basic input output system (BIOS) devices, such as fast disk drives that are hindered by low-frequency wide buses.

The output interface refers to the output interface of the switch. Generally, it has a BNC plug, a composite video interface, a VGA interface, and a terminal interface. For the matrix switcher, because it outputs two or more output signals to different display devices from multiple signal sources, the matrix switcher is a multi-input interface and a multi-output interface.

The input interface is the main parameter of the switch, referring to the input interface mode and the number of interfaces. The switch generally has four, eight, or 32 or even more input interfaces, and uses a BNC plug or a composite video interface. But for the matrix switcher because it is the choice of a variety of signal sources two or more output to different display devices. Therefore, the matrix switcher is a multi-input interface and a multi-output interface. At the same time, it has more interfaces such as RS-323 interface, serial port, 8-channel D-type 15-pin + RS232 control input, RCA interface, 9-pin COM connector and so on.
